About Blue Drawers

Sheryl Teach Stark follows her father’s and grandmother’s Jamaican cornmeal version of Blue Draws. The pudding combines cornmeal, coconut milk, brown sugar, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg inside banana leaves.

The sugar and raisins bring sweetness to the cornmeal, with coconut milk adding richness. Cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla provide the aromatic character of the simple mixture.
