About Pasulj prebranac
Nevena’s prebranac is a baked white-bean dish from her grandmother’s recipe, associated with the family’s lenten slava. Tetovac beans and layers of seasoned onion form its substantial base.
Garlic, paprika, bay leaves and red bell pepper give the casserole its aromatic character. Sunflower oil adds richness, with black pepper, salt and Vegeta seasoning in the onion mixture.
The baked surface has a brown crust over the beans and their remaining cooking liquid. The dish is served slightly cooled, with smoked sausage offered as an optional addition.
